PASO ROBLES — Paso Robles Aquatics is kicking off its summer programs. In addition to Swim America summer swim lessons, Summer League Swim Series, and Summer Water Polo they have started a Junior Triathlon Club.
It does not matter if your child is already an athlete or just beginning to engage in sports, this program is a fun and positive environment where young triathletes of all levels can improve their skills, train and compete as a team, organizers stated. The PR Junior Tri Club is for athletes age 9 and older and focuses on developing fitness level, confidence, and performance in multi-sport.
Paso Robles Junior Triathlon Club training schedule consists of the following activities:
2 swim practices per week will be assigned after coach assessment.
Tuesday/Thursday 3:30-4:30 p.m. (minimum
height requirement to fit on stationary bikes).
Monday/Wednesday 3:30-4:30 p.m.
(proper running shoes required).
Junior Tri-Athletes must be able to complete 25 meters of freestyle in deep water and have a current USA Triathlon membership required for competition (youth memberships are $10 annually).
Proper fitting one-piece swimsuit and goggles, long hair should be in a cap or tied back when swimming, closed-toe athletic shoes, and comfortable exercise clothing for cycle, core and run.
$165 for six-training sessions per week for the Summer Season which runs through Aug. 9. Free for current Paso Robles Aquatic swim team members USA Triathlon registration fee and competition entry fees are additional. In honor of National Triathlon Week, June 24-June 29, organizers invite junior triathletes to come and “TRI” it out on Thursday, June 27 at 3:30 p.m. at Kennedy Club Adventure Paso Robles. Email your RSVP in advance and look for the TRIATHLON table at the entrance to Kennedy.
