California Mid-State Fair announces ‘Hay Days of Summer’ theme for 2027
By Paso Robles Press · Sun Nov 08 2026
The California Mid-State Fair will celebrate its agricultural roots with “Hay Days of Summer,” the theme for its 2027 event, scheduled for July 14–25 at the Paso Robles Event Center. The theme recognizes the farmers, ranchers and community traditions that help shape California’s Central Coast. Organizers plan to incorporate it throughout the 12-day fair with themed dress-up days, interactive displays, photo opportunities, and activities for all ages.
Agriculture will remain central to the celebration, connecting livestock and agricultural exhibits with the food, work andtraditions that sustain local communities.
The theme will also guide the fair’s Exhibits program, inviting residents to showcase arts and crafts, homegrown goods and homemade creations. Organizers encourage both experienced exhibitors and first-time participants to begin planning their entries.
In its announcement, the fair said details about 2027 exhibit categories, entry deadlines and submission requirements would be released later. Community members interested in developing their skills can also participate in monthly craft classes offered at the Paso Robles Event Center.
Alongside the agricultural programming, the fair plans to offer its familiar mix of entertainment, carnival rides, food, exhibits and family activities, with the country-inspired theme woven throughout the grounds.
The annual event brings together agricultural exhibitors, artists, entertainers, businesses and families for one of the region’s longstanding summer traditions. The fair has received awards from the Western Fairs Association and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, as well as multiple nominations for the Academy of Country Music’s Fair/Rodeo of the Year award.
The Paso Robles Event Center is located at 2198 Riverside Ave. For more information and future announcements about the 2027 California Mid-State Fair, visit MidStateFair.com.
