A new search warrant was served at the San Pedro home of a former classmate of Kristin Smart, who went missing as a 19-year-old college student in 1996 from the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo area.
Paul Flores “continues to be a person of interest in the disappearance of Kristin Smart in 1996,” the the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Department said in a brief statement.
The latest search warrant comes as another page in a renewed effort to close the 24-year old case.
In February 2020, locals in SLO County held a supportive vigil for the Smart family.

Immediately after, several search warrants were served in connection to Flores.
The case is ongoing, and has renewed interest due to a popular podcast.
