Templeton Fire Department Plans Interim Event

TEMPLETON — The Templeton Fire Stairclimb Team will not be traveling to Seattle this weekend to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Firefighter Stairclimb as planned. The LLS Firefighter Stairclimb has been postponed due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus. This postponement not only impacts the Templeton and SLO County teams, but all Stairclimb teams domestic and internationally.

The Templeton Fire Department issued the following statement Thursday, inviting the public to join them for an interim event this Sunday at Templeton High School:

“In honor of the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb, as well as, all of our donors and, most importantly, those we climb for in their fight against cancer, the Templeton Fire Stairclimb Team will climb at Templeton High School Volunteer Stadium on Sunday March 8 at 9 a.m., In addition, we invite the community to come meet our climbers or even climb alongside the team as we honor the event that would have taken place at the Columbia Center in Seattle, WA. The team would like to take this opportunity to thank you all of our supporters.  We will continue to train hard and fundraise in our effort to find a cure for cancer.“

Fire Captain Brandon Wall, California LLS Ambassador, is in close contact with the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb organization in regard to updates about when the Stairclimb will be rescheduled.  He will send out more information as it comes available.
