Paso Robles offering Teen CERT disaster preparedness training this July

PASO ROBLES — Paso Robles Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering a 24-hour disaster preparedness course for teens ages 15 to 19 this July, aimed at building skills in emergency response, leadership, and disaster awareness.
The program will train students to assist in emergency situations before first responders arrive, covering topics such as disaster organization and management, hazardous materials awareness, terrorism preparedness, and the psychology of disasters. Officials say the course also emphasizes critical thinking and leadership development.
Classes will be held July 7–11, beginning at Centennial Park, 600 Nickerson Drive, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 7–10. The final session will take place July 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Paso Robles Fire Station 3, 2924 Union Road.
Students who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and a Teen CERT pack including a helmet, vest, gloves, and eye protection. The cost is $50.
