PASO ROBLES — The North County Dance Foundation is inviting dancers of all ages to audition for its 30th anniversary production of The Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet, marking three decades of one of the Central Coast's favorite holiday traditions.
Since its debut in 1996, the annual production has brought together dancers, families, volunteers, alumni, and audiences from across San Luis Obispo County. This year's milestone performance will celebrate the ballet's legacy while welcoming a new generation of performers.
Auditions are open to dancers ages 6 through adult and will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Class Act Dance Studio in Paso Robles. An informational meeting for prospective participants and their families is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the studio. Callbacks will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, by invitation only.
The 30th anniversary performances will take place Dec. 4-6 at Spanos Theatre at Cal Poly. The North County Dance Foundation also plans to present a special sensory-friendly performance of Act II on Dec. 12 at the Templeton Performing Arts Center, continuing its mission of making the performing arts accessible to all members of the community.
Families interested in auditioning are encouraged to complete the required online registration form through the North County Dance Foundation at ncdpaf.org
