Justin Haas and Tablas Creek Winery gains national recognition
Paso Robles is well represented on the list of 101 Best Wineries in America 2017.
Justin Haas, Partner and General Manager at Tablas Creek Vineyard said, “It is such an honor to be at the top of The Daily Meal’s list, among so many great neighbors, friends and icons. And it’s wonderful to see the list’s focus on wineries of Paso Robles and the Central Coast. Congratulations to the other Paso Robles wineries on the list: Daou, Turley, Saxum and Justin.”
Tablas Creek Vineyard was selected from the top producers in California and 13 other states by sommeliers, wine writers, bloggers, chefs, restauranteurs and editors of The Daily Meal. Nominations of more than 250 wineries; old and new, large and small, were compiled with tasting notes, input from leading wine publications and awards received. The choices were narrowed to 101 candidates.
Paso Robles is exceptionally well-represented with 2 of the top 10, and 5 on the list, all in the top 37. The Central Coast stacked up nicely too, with 19 on the list, 8 in the top 25.
The 120-acre limestone rich estate vineyard yields the finest Rhone red and white varietals. While the seasons change allowing the vines to rest and thrive, herds of sheep, alpacas and donkeys eat the winter cover crop, naturally fertilize the vineyard and mix it into the soil with their hooves – thoroughly organic and biodynamic.
During Harvest Festival Weekend, Tablas Creek will offer the first look at their flagship wines from the 2015 vintage. For a real exploration of the property, interactive harvest cellar tours are available.
