Branon Whitaker has been in the stone and tile care industry for 17 years. What began as a summer job with a restoration company has resulted in his own company, Rock Solid Stone Care, that is incredibly rewarding because of the reaction he receives from his clients. “I spent that summer learning the ropes on how to treat each stone and have been hooked ever since. There is always something new to learn and new methods being introduced which keeps things exciting,” says Branon.
Branon and his highly skilled technicians use the most advanced stone restoration techniques. Services include cleaning, sealing, refinishing, polishing and color enhancement of natural stone; stain, scratch and crack repair, tile cleaning, sealing, repair and replacement; grout restoration, cleaning and sealing; and pressure washing and sealing of exterior stone, pavers and tile. “Every job is unique. No two pieces of stone are the same. How each surface needs to be repaired presents its own challenges.
Restoring them to their original look or altering them for an updated look really changes how my customers view their surfaces. It’s so rewarding to see their excitement when I’m done,” says Branon.
One of his favorite projects is the restoration of an outdoor marble art piece in Santa Barbara. The artist, Pavel Kraus, spent 10 years creating the work of art. He was on hand to oversee the restoration that took a full week to complete. “Being able to bring new life into his work, which was in desperate need of repair, was an amazing accomplishment for us,” says Branon.
