Each month, we send a set of questions to our featured business owners and then share their answers with our readers. For July, we reached out to Tony Gaspar, president of Golden Reverse Mortgage; Jen Poletti and Elly Leslie of Pure Love Essential Oils, and Jean Higgins, owner of Di Raimondo’s Italian Market and Cheese Shop.
As a local reverse mortgage specialist, Tony with Golden Reverse Mortgage helps homeowners 62 years of age and older find peace of mind; call him at 400-3275 to set up a free consultation! Best friends since 6th grade, Jen and Elly with Pure Love Essential Oils help locals with natural alternatives for a variety of products, including options for cleaning, beauty, health, and wellness. Since 2002, Jean with Di Raimondo’s Italian Market and Cheese Shop, has provided imported and domestic cheeses, meats, breads, accoutrements, and imported hard-to-find market items, much to the delight of locals and visitors alike.
Here’s what Tony, Jen, Elly, and Jean had to say…
PASOMag: Tony, what are some your favorite reasons for doing business in Paso Robles?
Tony: Doing business in a small town is very rewarding because we get to see the people we have been able to help. Reverse mortgages are a very versatile loan that can improve a senior citizen’s lifestyle and financial picture in a way no other loan can; they are often called a lifestyle loan. At Golden Reverse Mortgage, we meet with our Paso Robles clients and those from the surrounding areas to discuss all of their financial options. Reverse mortgages are not always right for all clients but when a reverse mortgage is a fit, it’s often a perfect solution for the client’s needs; it’s a pleasure to be able to offer this service in the Paso Robles area.
PASOMag: Are you able to share a review from a recent client?
Tony: Recently, a divorcee found herself being forced from her dream home due to loss of income and an inability to make her mortgage payment. The reverse mortgage we secured for our client allowed her to stay in her home with no mortgage payment for the rest of her life.
PASOMag: Is there a favorite local establishment you enjoy visiting or activity you enjoy doing with family and friends during the summer months?
Tony: My wife of 28 years, Kim, and I enjoy beautiful downtown Paso with family and friends at Concerts in the Park. We support various local charities and the Paso Robles School District. I am also a pilot and an Airport Commissioner at our local airport.

PASOMag: Jen and Elly, what are some your favorite reasons for doing business in Paso Robles?
Jen & Elly: We love helping moms in the very same area where we grew up and attended school. We love the way Paso has that small town feel and we can definitely sense that when connecting with mamas in this community! We want to continue to teach and support local moms, empowering them to take a more natural approach to their family’s health.
PASOMag: Are you able to share a review from a recent client?
Jen & Elly: Sure! This review, from Lindsay Setterfield, is just one of many that we have received. Lindsay says, “When we first started incorporating essential oils into our house, we were looking for a way to help boost our kids’ immune systems. [Jen and Elly] have been there every step of the way and continue to teach us new things daily. Our family has never been healthier and now I can’t imagine a life without oils.”
PASOMag: Is there a favorite local establishment you enjoy visiting or activity you enjoy doing with family and friends during the summer months?
Jen & Elly: Our kids love to visit the Ravine Waterpark and local beaches – they are water babies! Our favorite place to eat during summer, and really year-round, is Red Scooter Deli across from Downtown City Park; it’s quick and easy with little ones so we get food to go and enjoy a meal in the park!

PASOMag: Jean, what are some your favorite reasons for doing business in Paso Robles?
Jean: Paso Robles has a unique blend of long-time locals, new locals just having moved here, long-distance regulars who visit us with each trip to Paso, and the tourists who have just discovered us. Everyone who enters our shop is happy and, in many cases, on vacation. It’s a great environment for all of us.
PASOMag: Are you able to share a review from a recent client(s)?
Jean: Yes, this is one of several we’ve received over the years: “We always make a stop here whenever we’re in town. Great selection of cheese and cured meats, reminds us of the prosciutterias we visited in Rome. Bring your picnic basket, get bread, cheese, meat, and then hit the wineries.”
PASOMag: Is there a favorite local establishment you enjoy visiting or activity you enjoy doing with family and friends during the summer months?
Jean: Summertime brings lots of options for an al fresco evening with food, wine, and music – Concerts in the Park, Train Wreck at Pomar Junction, Wine Down Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday at Calcareous and Austin Hope, respectively. There is no end to the selection of wineries offering a relaxing and delicious alternative to restaurant dining.
