Paso Robles seeks applicants for Airport Commission, housing committee

PASO ROBLES — The City of Paso Robles is accepting applications from community members interested in serving on two advisory bodies: the Airport Commission and the Housing Constraints and Opportunities Committee.

Applications are open through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, with three-year terms beginning Nov. 1. The city has two vacancies on each body.

The Airport Commission gathers public input on the operation and future development of the Paso Robles Airport, advises the City Council and makes decisions in areas delegated by the council. Meetings are generally held every other month on the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles Airport Terminal.

Applicants for the Airport Commission should review the commission bylaws for qualifications. Questions may be directed to Airport Manager Mark Scandalis at (805) 237-3877 or airport@prcity.com

The Housing Constraints and Opportunities Committee identifies constraints and opportunities related to housing development in the city and makes recommendations addressing housing shortages, affordability and related challenges. The committee meets at least once annually in November, with additional meetings scheduled as needed.

Applicants should review the committee bylaws for qualifications. Questions may be directed to the Planning Department at Planning@PRCity.com or (805) 237-3970.

Both bodies serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council, with members making recommendations based on information discussed and gathered by the committees. Community members may serve on only one city advisory body at a time, and appointments will be made by a vote of the City Council.
