By Staff Report · Fri Aug 07 2026
PASO ROBLES — The nomination period for the office of mayor in the November election has been extended following Mayor John Hamon’s decision not to seek another term.
As of Aug. 7, the Paso Robles City Clerk had issued nomination papers to incumbents for all offices except mayor. Because the incumbent will not be filing nomination papers, the nomination period for mayor has been extended by five days to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Nomination papers are available at Paso Robles City Hall, 1000 Spring St.
Candidates for mayor must have been residents of the City of Paso Robles for at least 30 days before the election and be registered voters in the city.
If you meet the eligibility requirements and are interested in running for this position, please email CityClerk@prcity.com to schedule an appointment to pull papers.
