Paso Robles launches online public records request portal
By Staff Report · Tue Aug 18 2026
PASO ROBLES — The City of Paso Robles has launched a new online public records request system designed to make it easier for community members to submit requests, communicate with city staff and track request progress.
The CivicPlus NextRequest portal also provides a searchable database of previous requests and responses. Requests and responsive documents become publicly available through the system after 72 hours.
Community members can submit requests anonymously or provide contact information to receive records directly by email. Users can also create an account to track their in-progress and completed requests.
The City Clerk’s Office has spent the past month transitioning from offline request tracking to the new system, allowing staff to test the platform, gather feedback and receive training before launching the portal.
Requests submitted in person, by mail or by email will also be entered into the portal to provide centralized tracking and transparency.
The City Clerk’s Office manages public records requests in accordance with the California Public Records Act. The city noted that many commonly requested documents, including public meeting agendas and reports, annual budget information and business license records, are already available on its website.
