Habitat SLO to host Home Sweet Home brunch fundraiser

PASO ROBLES — Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County will host its second annual Home Sweet Home: A Brunch to Build Futures fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, supporting affordable homeownership and critical home repairs throughout San Luis Obispo County.

The family-friendly event will feature sourdough pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, McPrice Myers Wines and live music from Central Coast singer-songwriter Savannah Creech.

Habitat SLO Board Member Truitt Vane and his daughter, Lilly, will prepare the event’s signature sourdough pancakes.

Proceeds will support Habitat SLO’s efforts to provide safe, affordable homeownership opportunities and its Home Preservation/Aging in Place program, which assists existing homeowners with critical repairs and safety improvements.

“More than 25 local homeowners are currently waiting for help through our Home  Preservation/Aging in Place program,” said Dawn Smith, CEO of Habitat SLO. “They are waiting for critical repairs and safety improvements that can help them remain safely in their homes.  We need our community’s support to raise the funds necessary to serve more of these homeowners. Home Sweet Home is a fun way to be part of that effort.”

Tickets are $60 in advance and $70 at the door, if available. Children age 10 and younger eat free. Space is limited.

Early sponsors include Ashley & Vance Engineering, Atascadero Chamber of Commerce, Bank of the Sierra, Covelop Inc., Idler’s Home, Julie and Chris Cross, Hope Lutheran Church, Madonna Inn, McPrice Myers Wines, Mechanics Bank and Two Knights Insurance.

Sponsorship opportunities remain available.
