Fort Hunter Liggett reports no imminent threat from Plaskett Fire

FORT HUNTER LIGGETT — There is currently no imminent threat from the Plaskett Fire to the Fort Hunter Liggett cantonment area or to personnel, residents and families living or working on the installation, according to an update from Fort Hunter Liggett.
Fourteen remote training areas on the installation have been downgraded to “Unaffected” status, while two training areas have been downgraded from “Evacuation” to “Warning.”
The FHL Hunting & Fishing Program remains closed until further notice. Fort Hunter Liggett is also strengthening firebreaks, working with the incident management team and providing personnel, heavy equipment and space for a fire base camp.
Nacimiento-Ferguson and Del Venturi roads remain closed to public traffic. Area residents who are not under county evacuation orders may continue to access their properties through Fort Hunter Liggett using Mission Road as a thoroughfare.
Security personnel are stationed at the intersections of Mission Road with Nacimiento-Ferguson Road and Del Venturi Road to restrict nonessential travel.
