FARMstead ED opens 2027 SLO County Farm Trail membership

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — FARMstead ED is inviting local farms, ranches, makers and agricultural partners to join the 2027 SLO County Farm Trail and share their stories with residents and visitors.

The Farm Trail connects people who grow, raise and make agricultural products throughout San Luis Obispo County, providing a collective platform to promote local agriculture and connect consumers with the people and places behind the products.

“When people know their farmer, they better understand and value our local agriculture,” said Lynette Sonne of FARMstead ED. “The Farm Trail gets people off the highway, onto the back roads and farmer’s markets, face-to-face with the farmers and makers who grow our food and make this place so special.”

Farm Trail members receive collective marketing opportunities through farm tours, workshops, hands-on experiences, special gatherings and FARMstead ED’s annual Open Farm Days. Membership also includes placement on the printed SLO County Farm Trail Map, as well as promotion through the Farm Trail website, newsletter and social media.

Members may also participate in Local Roots, Open Farm Days 2027, Farm Trail events, farmers’ marketplaces, media visits, familiarization tours and destination marketing promotions.

Two membership categories are available.

Trail Members are SLO County farms, ranches and makers actively producing local agricultural products. Members must have a physical location that can be represented on the Farm Trail map and be able to welcome visitors for Farm Trail events. Year-round public access is not required.

Collaborative Members are local businesses and organizations that support and work alongside SLO County agriculture.

Applications for 2027 SLO County Farm Trail membership are due Oct. 15.

FARMstead ED is also accepting sponsorships for 2027.
