Central Coast Aquarium brings hands-on ocean experience to Paso Robles seniors

PASO ROBLES — Paso Robles residents at Creston Village Assisted Living and Memory Care will get a rare chance to touch starfish and other sea creatures when the Central Coast Aquarium brings the ocean to them on Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m.

Many Creston Village residents haven’t physically interacted with ocean life in years. While they enjoy scenic views and meals by the beach, trips to the nearest aquarium in Avila Beach — about 25 miles away—can be difficult. The aquarium team, arranged by Julie Tacker, Director of Engagement, is reversing that journey to deliver a hands-on marine experience directly to the community.

The visit will allow seniors to interact with marine animals without leaving Paso Robles, providing both educational and sensory enrichment. Local media are invited to cover the event and share how the Central Coast Aquarium is bringing ocean experiences 50 miles inland.
