PASO ROBLES — Railroad Street has reopened after emergency crews safely mitigated a natural gas leak in the 1200 block earlier today, according to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.

The leak was repaired by the gas company, and emergency responders completed a thorough safety assessment before lifting all road closures and allowing evacuated occupants to return to nearby buildings.

Officials said the area has been fully reopened to the public.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services thanked residents, businesses and visitors for their patience and cooperation while crews worked to secure the area.

"Your cooperation allowed responders to work efficiently and safely," the department said in a statement.

PASO ROBLES — Emergency crews are responding to a natural gas leak in downtown Paso Robles after a gas line was damaged in the 1200 block of Railroad Street.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services said the leak prompted the closure of Railroad Street and Pine Street between 12th and 13th streets. Nearby buildings have also been evacuated as a precaution while crews work to secure the area.

Firefighters and Paso Robles police officers remain on scene, and repairs are being coordinated with the gas company.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the incident is resolved.

Officials have not provided an estimated time for the roads to reopen. Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services said additional updates will be released as more information becomes available.
