Training burns planned at Paso Robles Airport on June 9

PASO ROBLES — Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services will conduct several small training burns at the Paso Robles Airport on Tuesday, June 9, as part of a fire investigation training exercise in partnership with the San Luis Obispo Fire Investigation Strike Team.

Residents may notice light smoke in the area during the exercise. Fire officials said the burns will be closely monitored and conducted under approved permits and controlled conditions with fire suppression measures in place.

The training will not impact airport operations, air traffic, or public access to airport facilities, and officials emphasized there is no threat to the surrounding community.

According to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services, the hands-on exercises help fire investigators maintain critical skills and ensure personnel remain prepared to effectively serve the community.
