PRJUSD addresses rumors of alleged threats at Paso Robles High School

PASO ROBLES — Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) officials said Tuesday, May 19, they are aware of rumors circulating among students, families, and on social media regarding alleged threats toward the Paso Robles High School community.

According to a message sent by district administration to families, staff, and students through ParentSquare at 1:05 p.m., school administrators investigated an old text message that had resurfaced and was being recirculated among students. Officials said additional rumors and secondhand claims that spread Tuesday morning are also being reviewed in coordination with law enforcement.

District officials stated that, at this time, no direct reports containing specific or credible information related to the circulating claims have been made to school administration, law enforcement, or the district’s anonymous tip line.

The district urged students and families to report any concerning information directly to school administration, counselors, law enforcement, or through the anonymous tip line rather than reposting or discussing rumors on social media or in group chats.

“Sharing unconfirmed information is not harmless — it can unintentionally contribute to fear, confusion, and misinformation within our school community,” the district said in its statement.

PRJUSD officials emphasized that student and staff safety remains the district’s top priority and said families would be notified immediately through official communication channels if a credible or immediate threat were identified.
