Paso Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents all fireworks are prohibited within city limits

PASO ROBLES — As Independence Day approaches, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services is reminding residents and visitors that the use of all fireworks, including those labeled "Safe and Sane," is prohibited within city limits.
Officials say dry vegetation and elevated fire danger increase the risk of wildfires and structure fires, with even a single firework capable of igniting a blaze. Residents are encouraged to celebrate the holiday by attending a professional fireworks display, such as the city's annual Fourth of July celebration at Barney Schwartz Park.
Fire and law enforcement personnel will be actively patrolling throughout the holiday weekend, and officials said fireworks laws will be strictly enforced. Violations may result in citations, fines and liability for fire suppression costs or property damage.
"Our community's safety depends on everyone making responsible choices," said Fire Marshal/Battalion Chief Paul Patti. "Enjoy a professional fireworks display like our City's 4th of July Celebration at Barney Schwartz Park and help us protect our community from preventable fires and injuries."
