California Mid-State Fair announces entertainment lineup; New fair specials

PASO ROBLES — The California Mid-State Fair will return July 15–26 with this year’s “Back to the ’80s” theme, bringing 12 days of concerts, carnival rides, exhibits, livestock shows, food, shopping, and family entertainment to Paso Robles.

Fair officials recently unveiled this year's entertainment lineup, featuring a mix of country, rock, hip-hop, metal, and nostalgic throwback acts at the Chumash Grandstand Arena. Headliners include Chris Stapleton, Ice Cube, Lainey Wilson, Eric Church, Megadeth, Willie Nelson, Treaty Oak Revival, and Three Dog Night. The fair will also host the Country Rodeo Finals and Tractor Pull during the final weekend.

Officials said the fairgrounds will feature daily themed experiences inspired by the 1980s, including roller skating, arcade games, themed photo opportunities, mullet and big hair contests, retro music, and interactive activities throughout the event.

In addition to the grandstand concerts, fairgoers can enjoy nightly entertainment on the 805 Frontier Stage, included with paid fair admission. This year’s lineup includes performances by Micky Dolenz, Shenandoah, LOCASH, and Queensrÿche.

Fair admission also includes access to exhibits, community competitions, livestock barns, agricultural demonstrations, shopping areas, roving entertainment, and six free stages featuring live entertainment throughout the day and evening. Separate tickets are required for grandstand concerts, carnival rides, and select special events.

Organizers are also introducing new Happy Hour specials this year, offering discounted food and beverages daily from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Additional savings opportunities throughout the fair include pre-sale carnival wristband vouchers sold through local nonprofit groups, Farm Supply discount admission tickets, and ValPak coupon offers mailed throughout San Luis Obispo County.
