PASO ROBLES — The Paso Robles Pioneer Day Committee has announced that applications are now open for its scholarship program, supporting local students pursuing higher education and vocational training across Northern San Luis Obispo County.
The scholarship program is available to graduating seniors or recent graduates from Northern SLO County high schools who are enrolling in a 2-year college, 4-year university, trade school, or certificated program.
Two scholarship categories are offered: the Heritage Scholarship and the Industrial Arts/Agriculture Scholarship. Applicants must submit a completed application, unofficial transcript, and a 500–750 word essay tailored to their selected category.
The Heritage Scholarship essay asks students to describe their family’s pioneer heritage of 75 years or more and how it has shaped their values, identity, and connection to the region, including traditions or community contributions. The Industrial Arts/Agriculture Scholarship essay focuses on students’ career goals in those fields, relevant experience, leadership roles, and how the scholarship will support their educational path.
Completed applications must be submitted by Aug. 1, either by email to sarahcolleenkramer@hotmail.com or by mail to P.O. Box 262, Paso Robles, CA 93447
