Daryl Sligh 1946-2026

It is with deeply grieving hearts and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Daryl Sligh, who went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2026, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was selflessly devoted to his family.

Daryl was born on July 14, 1946, in San Luis Obispo, California, to Drayton and Dorothy Sligh. His family moved to Southern California during Daryl's childhood. They relocated to Atascadero in 1959, and Daryl later graduated from Atascadero High School in 1964. During high school, he enjoyed wrestling, pole-vaulting, and playing football, and spoke often of the valuable life lessons he learned from his coaches.

It was at Atascadero High School where Daryl met the love of his life, Lynndell, who he married on September 18, 1965. Together, they shared 60 years of a loving marriage.

Upon graduation, Daryl pursued a variety of jobs in retail clerks and route sales to provide for his growing family, which included the blessing of two children, Steve and Debby.

As the son of a cabinet maker and installer, it wasn't long before Daryl discovered that he, too, had a personal interest in cabinetry. In 1974, he opened his own custom cabinet business. The business began small, but with each passing year, the company grew with the help and support of many locals. The growth eventually led to the building of his own cabinet manufacturing company in Paso Robles, Sligh Cabinets. Daryl enjoyed working with customers and helping them bring to realization the vision for their custom kitchen, and he often added a surprise "special touch" that they weren't expecting. Daryl was always grateful to have an excellent crew with many dedicated employees. He was also so pleased and excited to have many of his family members be a part of the business through the years.

Outside of work, Daryl enjoyed traveling the country with Lynndell, including fishing adventures, Angels baseball games, and Disneyland trips with the family. He truly cherished spending special time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to him.

Throughout Dary's life, he was known for his unending kindness, incredibly generous heart, extra fun sense of humor, and unparalleled dedication to his family. He had a keen sense of being able to recognize someone in need and always willingly gave of his time, encouragement, and help. Because of His belief in the Lord, Daryl humbly knew with confidence that every blessing in life was from God.

Daryl is preceded in death by his father, Drayton Sligh, and his mother, Dorothy Sligh. He is survived by his wife Lynndell Sligh; brother Dennis Sligh; son Steve Sligh (Janet), daughter Debby Wulff (Ron); six grandchildren, Brandon Sligh (Lauren), Jordon Sligh (Ciara), Donovan Sligh (Sierra), Jacqueline Walker (Weston), Heather Tull (Daniel), and Sarah Ducasse (Nick); seven great grandchildren, Grace and Grant Walker, Lincoln and Lilla Sligh, Brynn and Shea Sligh, and Shiloh Tull; nieces Suzey VanNess (Jeff), Missy Sligh; and nephew Dennis Sligh (Angie).

A graveside service will be held for Daryl on Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00am at Atascadero Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favorite charity of your choice in remembrance of Daryl, the wonderful man who we will always love and miss with all our hearts.
