Candidate filing period to open for PRJUSD Board of Trustees Election

PASO ROBLES — Community members interested in serving on the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Governing Board will soon have an opportunity to file for candidacy in the November 3 General Election.
The candidate filing period opens July 13 and closes Aug. 7 through the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder's Elections Office. Three seats on the PRJUSD Board of Trustees will be up for election, representing Trustee Areas 1, 2, and 4. Successful candidates will serve four-year terms.
To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a registered voter residing within the boundaries of PRJUSD, and a resident of the trustee area they seek to represent. Candidates also must not be legally disqualified from holding civil office.
The PRJUSD Board of Trustees oversees district policies, budgets, and long-term planning for local schools, making the position a key role in shaping educational priorities throughout the district. Residents interested in running for office can review trustee area maps and additional election information through the district and county elections office before the filing period begins.
