PASO ROBLES — California Mid-State Fair is celebrating 80 years of creativity and community by inviting San Luis Obispo County residents to participate in its 2026 Community Exhibits Competitions. From baking and painting to crocheting, photography, and crafting, the competitions welcome all ages and skill levels.
To inspire first-time entrants, the fair is offering a Monthly Crafting Class, starting with a Crochet Class on Wednesday, March 25, at the Paso Robles Event Center’s Frontier Building. The adult class (18+) runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a suggested donation of $10. Registration closes March 20. Participants will complete projects eligible for entry in the Exhibits Department at the Fair.
Entering offers opportunities to display your work to thousands of guests, compete for ribbons, and celebrate the Fair’s milestone 80th anniversary. This year’s Fair theme is "Back to the ’80s!" and takes place July 15–26.
