Wine Country Theatre brings ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ to life as live radio play

PASO ROBLES — This holiday season, Wine Country Theatre invites audiences to experience the classic Christmas tale It’s a Wonderful Life like never before — as a live radio play. Performances will take place at Plymouth Congregational Church, with evening shows at 7 p.m. on November 29, December 5, 6, and 12, and matinees at 2 p.m. on November 30, December 6, 7, 13, and 14.

Co-directed by Cynthia Anthony and Jacob Shearer, the production follows George Bailey’s journey from childhood to a fateful day that makes him wish he had never been born, brought to life through the nostalgic lens of a 1940s radio broadcast with period costumes, live sound effects, and holiday charm.

“This show is a love letter to storytelling itself,” says Shearer. “Audiences will see actors creating the world of Bedford Falls live on stage — microphones, foley tables, and all — while rediscovering what truly makes life wonderful.”

Geoff Higgins stars as George Bailey, joined by a talented ensemble including Kristen Saunders, Katie Schulte, Scott Saunders, Tracy Mayfield, Marjorie Hamon, Edgar De La Cruz, Lindsey Villanueva-Taylor, and Thomas Hanrahan.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Plymouth Congregational Church and local community service programs. Tickets are available at My805Tix.com and winecountrytheatre.org. Early reservations are recommended as seating is limited.
