Two individuals and five dogs rescued from Salinas Riverbed

PASO ROBLES — Two individuals and five dogs were rescued from the Salinas Riverbed on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

According to a press release from Paso Fire, crews were able to launch the boat and safely rescue two individuals and five dogs from a riverbed encampment. The Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance assisted with victim location and assessment. None of the victims required medical treatment, and no responders were injured.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind residents that during periods of heavy rain, especially when soils are already saturated, rivers and creeks can rise rapidly. They advise never attempting to cross unfamiliar moving bodies of water.
