PASO ROBLES — The City of Paso Robles will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration & Service on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, inviting residents of all ages to honor Dr. King’s legacy through reflection, community connection, and hands-on service.
The day will begin with a community celebration near the gazebo from 9 to 10 a.m. at Downtown City Park (11th and Park Street), featuring inspiring guest speakers and uplifting musical performances that reflect Dr. King’s message and impact. This gathering offers an opportunity for the community to reflect, connect, and set the tone for a day rooted in service.
Following the celebration, participants are encouraged to take part in one of two 90-minute service projects from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Volunteer opportunities include assembling care packages at the Paso Robles City Library or participating in a mulch beautification project at Robbins Field. All registered volunteers will receive a commemorative gift and are invited to attend a volunteer luncheon prepared by the Paso Robles Lions Club.
Registration for service projects is available online at prcity.com/mlk or in person at the Centennial Park registration desk, 600 Nickerson Drive, Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
The annual observance emphasizes the power of service to strengthen the community and encourages residents to reflect on Dr. King’s words: “Everybody can be great, because everyone can serve.” The celebration will continue later in the month with an MLK Art Contest winners’ exhibition opening Jan. 30 at the Paso Robles City Library.
