NORTH COUNTY — The Optimist Clubs of Paso Robles and Atascadero will host the 3rd Annual Optimist Festival of Trees on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. The event raises funds to support youth activities and scholarships in the local community.
Attendees can view 40–45 uniquely decorated, 4-foot artificial Christmas trees, each raffled off with at least $300 in gifts and services from local businesses and individuals. A Bonus Christmas Tree will also be available with additional gifts for one lucky winner. Guests have roughly two hours to view the trees, submit raffle tickets, and enjoy the festive atmosphere before and after a holiday dinner.
Raffle tickets are sold in sheets of 25 plus one Bonus ticket for $20. There is no limit on purchases, and payment is accepted by cash, check, or credit card. Winners take their trees home at the end of the evening.
Entry tickets are $75 (tax deductible), with kids under 17 for $35, and include access to the event and a holiday dinner. Beer, wine, and champagne will be available for purchase. Additional drawings, door prizes, music, and a possible visit from Santa Claus will add to the festivities.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting Iddy at 805-469-5609, Chuck Sawyer at 805-591-9590, or any Optimist Club member, as well as via Eventbrite.com. Early ticket purchase is recommended, as sales are limited.
The Optimist Clubs of Paso Robles and Atascadero are local chapters of Optimist International, a service organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth. The clubs sponsor scholarships, youth activities, a free Kid’s Fishing Derby, and provide backpacks for children in San Luis Obispo County.
