Lora P. Eade 1970-2025

Lora Pankey Eade, loving mother to Tyler and Warren and wife to James, her core, passed away suddenly on December 1, 2025, at the age of 55. Lora was born in Pueblo, CO, to Janice Acox Pankey and James Henry Pankey, she was the oldest of four children. Granddaughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth “Grammy” Pankey, Lora blazed her own trail. There was nothing she couldn’t do! Her effervescent spirit and abounding enthusiasm flowed freely and generously. Lora shared a vibrant passion for family, life, friends and community. Her refreshing outlook, loyal support and giving spirit will be dearly missed, especially the FUN spirit and passion she shared and ignited, and most of all, her humor and boisterous and infectious laughter.

Lora grew up in Tacna, AZ, for a few years, where the family had interests in citrus orchards. The family soon settled in Shandon, CA, where Lora worked on the family farm, lifeguarded at the Shandon community pool and graduated from Shandon High School in 1988, the class valedictorian.

Lora made her dreams happen with her motivation and confidence. In her heart, she loved nature, the mountains and being outdoors. Lora enjoyed her college summers as an outfitter packer for the Currey Company in Yosemite and made trips in the high country in Tuolumne Meadows. She was also a lifelong expert skier, where she worked at Mammoth, Squaw Valley and Vail Mt. and enjoyed many other ski parks. Lora traveled on safari in Africa and toured all over Europe on her many adventures and gleefully hiked from hut to hut, on and off trains high up in the Alps, Dolomites and Pyrenees, cheered on riders at a mountain stage of the Tour de France.

After graduating from the University of San Diego in 1992, Lora went into corporate farming for a few years and had several start-ups and exits. Lora eventually landed in commercial real estate, where she built her business for the past 18 years. She leaped into each endeavor she created, with belief, entrepreneurial zest and drive until she mastered it. From the countless businesses she founded, professional licenses secured, from commercial real estate, auctions, farm equipment, wine cellar business, getting her Series 3C, growing paper daisies, seed, livestock, beer fed beef, Ag Tech, test plots on her electric path, nothing was too challenging.

After a long courtship, Lora married James Eade on August 18, 2004, in Santa Barbara, CA, and honeymooned in Patagonia and around South America. Lora and James settled outside San Miguel, CA, in Indian Valley and had two children, Tyler Carolyn Eade (17) and Warren Wesley Eade (15). Lora’s love and unwavering support for her children was beyond reproach. Lora
organized and assisted Tyler as she achieved a position on the UC Davis equestrian team and will begin her university studies in fall 2026. Lora was so proud of Warren and enjoyed enthusiastically sharing his latest achievements, adding, “that my son.”

When Lora was not working, she enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, cooking, travelling and being in the mountains. The mountains were Lora’s true personal passion, safe place and clarity.

Lora donated her commercial real estate expertise to search for and finally acquire a permanent home for the Almond Acres Charter Academy school in Paso Robles, CA. She was president of the California Women for Agriculture, Salinas Valley Chapter, 2016-2018. Lora had membership and affiliations with numerous other organizations that modeled her beliefs.

Lora is survived by her husband and children. Lora was deeply loved and cherished by friends and family.
