Georgia Brown Dad’s Club launches first fundraising golf tournament

PASO ROBLES — The Georgia Brown Dad’s Club will host its 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, March 28, at Hunter Ranch Golf Course, raising funds to support students and teachers at Georgia Brown Dual Immersion School.

The tournament begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and will include a putting contest, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin competitions, cash prizes and raffle drawings. Registration is $175 per player, with options for single golfers, twosomes and foursomes. Local businesses can participate through $200 hole sponsorships.

Proceeds will fund student enrichment programs, classroom resources, field trips and innovative initiatives such as 5th Grade Science Camp and the school’s Robotics Club, which recently advanced to the state championship after earning multiple VEX Robotics awards.

“These programs give our students opportunities they might not otherwise have,” said Drew Hutcheson, leader of the Dad’s Club and member of the Georgia Brown PTO. “This tournament allows the broader community to directly invest in experiences that shape our kids’ confidence, leadership, and academic growth.”

The event also marks the Dad’s Club’s first anniversary. Since forming last year to increase father involvement on campus, the group has supported numerous school events and fundraisers in partnership with the Georgia Brown PTO.

“They’ve proven there are no limits to what our dads can do,” said Courtney Perales, PTO President. “From cooking and serving to washing dishes and setting up events, they’re willing to jump in wherever needed to support students and teachers. They have been an integral part of connecting dads to campus.”
