Gary L. Krans 1950-2026

Gary Lehman Krans, 75, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at his home in Templeton, California. He was born on March 20, 1950, and raised in Casper, Wyoming. As the second oldest of five children, Gary developed early on a strong sense of connection, leadership, and care for those around him.

Gary had a truly larger-than-life presence. He was charismatic, positive, and genuinely jovial with everyone he met. His warmth and optimism were unmistakable, and he had a natural ability to make people feel welcome and at ease. He rarely met a stranger, and his energy and outlook left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Throughout his 47-year career and retiring as President of Santa Clara Windustrial in 2016, Gary was more than a leader — he was a mentor. He took a genuine interest in the people he worked with and had a lasting, positive impact on the lives of many employees. He believed in encouraging others, offering guidance, and helping people see their own potential, and his influence extended far beyond the workplace.

He was a devoted husband to Lonnalee and a loving father to his children, Gretchen (Will) Roddick and Brandon (Cheryl) Martin. Gary was a proud and deeply devoted grandfather to Aden, Hanna, Emmett, and Addison, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Margarete Krans. He is survived by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his siblings Richard (Jenny) Krans, Steven (Isabel) Krans, Lida Ann Volin, and Louise Zawacki, along with many extended family members and friends who were fortunate to know him.

Above all, Gary was a family man who valued relationships and presence above all else. He showed his love through laughter, encouragement, and a steady, supportive spirit. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.

A celebration of life will be held in March 2026 at his home in Templeton, California, where friends and family will gather to honor his life, his stories, and the joy he brought into the world. For details and RSVP, contact Gretchen Roddick at (805) 440-0133 or gretchen@hfwines.com
