Eldon J. Bergman 1933-2025

Eldon Bergman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 30, 2025. He was born in Paso Robles to Alfred and Agnetha Bergman on July 22, 1933, and had one younger brother, Virgil. Eldon grew up on Vineyard Drive and Dover Canyon, where he spent much of his time hunting and fishing—two passions that would stay with him throughout his life.

In November 1970, Eldon married his true love, Diana Dunbar. They moved to the family homestead on Vineyard Drive and welcomed their first child, Lorretta, five years later. Two and a half years later, their son Bryan arrived, completing their family of four. Diana passed away in May of 2024. Eldon and Diana shared a beautiful life together until her passing.

Eldon worked for the County Road Department and spent his weekends guiding hunts for boar, bucks, and turkeys. His true passions in life—after his family—were hunting and fishing. No one ever walked away from a conversation with Eldon without hearing one of his great hunting or fishing stories! He also had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs.

Eldon became a father-in-law in 2000 when Lorretta married Tige Griffin. In 2002, he became a grandfather with the birth of Amelia, followed by his grandson, Gabriel. In 2005, Bryan married Crystal VanZee, and later, Eldon welcomed twin granddaughters, Kaydence and Zoe.

Eldon cherished his family and friends above all else.
