PASO ROBLES — A bank robbery suspect identified by Paso Robles police earlier this week has been arrested in Fresno County following a coordinated multi-agency effort, authorities said.
The investigation began on Wednesday, June 24, when officers responded at approximately 2:49 p.m. to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 500 block of Spring Street after a reported robbery. Police said an unknown adult male entered the bank and verbally claimed to be armed while demanding money from an employee. No weapon was displayed during the incident.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot northbound on Spring Street. He was initially described as a Hispanic male adult wearing a light blue and white baseball-style hat, facial tattoos, a dark-colored bandana around his neck, a high-visibility yellow long-sleeve shirt, and blue jeans.
Investigators reviewed bank surveillance footage, which provided clearer images of the suspect. Detectives later identified him as Ernesto Noriega Cisneros and began actively working to locate him.
On June 26, detectives determined Cisneros’ general location in the northwest area of Fresno and coordinated with Fresno County MAGEC Detectives. At approximately 9:30 p.m., authorities located him in his vehicle and took him into custody on suspicion of bank robbery and for violating Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) terms.
Paso Robles detectives responded to Fresno and took custody of Cisneros before transporting him back to San Luis Obispo County, where he was booked into county jail on charges of robbery under California Penal Code §211 and PRCS violations under §3455.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Paso Robles Police Department. Those wishing to remain anonymous may also contact Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-STOP or text “SLOTIPS” to 274637.
