A.M. Sun Solar + Roofing marks 25 years with fundraiser for ECHO

PASO ROBLES — A.M. Sun Solar + Roofing is celebrating its 25th anniversary by partnering with El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) to support families experiencing homelessness in San Luis Obispo County.

The Paso Robles-based company has pledged to donate $250 for every solar or roofing project contract signed during June, with a guaranteed minimum contribution of $2,500 to ECHO’s “Building Hope & Home” capital campaign.

Funds raised will support the development of the Balay Ko Family Resource Center at ECHO’s Atascadero campus. The expansion will add 30 beds for families with children and include private family rooms, child-friendly spaces, workforce development resources, case management services, and other support programs designed to help families secure long-term housing.

According to ECHO, more than 300 individuals and families are currently on the organization’s waitlist for shelter and supportive services.

“For the last 25 years, our work has centered around protecting homes and helping families invest in their future,” said A.M. Sun Solar + Roofing owner Mark Miller. "As we thought about how we wanted to celebrate this milestone, partnering with ECHO felt like the obvious choice. It turns out we share more than a passion for this community. We share an anniversary. Twenty-five years of showing up for the Central Coast, and we're glad to be celebrating that together."

Construction of the Balay Ko Family Resource Center is already underway and is expected to be completed in early fall.

“We’re incredibly grateful for partnerships like this that directly invest back into our local community,” said Tess Davis Cheek, Director of Development. “Support from local businesses like A.M. Sun Solar + Roofing helps us continue expanding services for families who are working toward long-term stability and housing.”

The project represents one of ECHO’s largest efforts to expand family housing resources in San Luis Obispo County.
