As lead editor on her show, she gave the acceptance speech for her colleagues in front of a hundreds of attendees at the Microsoft Center.
Martin and her team, including John Lim and Michael Roha, were nominated for their work on RuPaul’s “Drag Race” series. They won for the “Oh. My Gaga!” Episode featuring singer/performer Lady Gaga.
The show is produced by World of Wonder Productions and distributed on VH1. They received the award from Kristen Schaal (“The Last Man On Earth,” “30 Rock,” “Bob’s Burgers”) and Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live,” “Kenan & Kel,” “Fat Albert”).
“The message of our show … is positivity and acceptance and we’re so honored to bring that message to a world that needs it more than ever,” said Martin.
Jamie Martin’s husband, Paul Cross, was also nominated for an award for his work on the series “Born This Way,” (A&E) featuring stories of young adults born with Down syndrome as they pursue their passions while defying society’s expectations.
