Opening night celebration is April 4, 2020, 6-9PM at Studios on the Park, Art After Dark.  Opening night remarks by Brigadier General (Retired) CHRISTIE L. NIXON with over 35 years of commissioned service, and experiences, including Firefighter/EMT.  Rocking the house is Veteran, DJ Ed Morris. Come early and stay late with dancing until the doors close.

Please come to enjoy yourself and show your support for our veteran and artist communities.

The Veterans’ Voices III art exhibition is an opportunity for those who have served in the armed forces to express themselves thru the arts.  All branches of service, both active and retired are welcome to enter. Art sessions thru the year are offered at no cost for veterans.   All mediums of artistic expression are encouraged.   We validate one another by listening with our eyes, hearing with our hearts and feeling with our souls.  Together we’re building bridges thru art.

“Time is our most valuable asset…”  Those who served gave their time.  In return they were given pride, patriotism, honor and respect, as well as PTS, MST, mental health issues, homelessness, isolation, loss of hope and faith.  The results of service and war are complex.

We ask those who served to share reflections on their life, their play, their feelings, their insight.  What was their takeaway from service experience?  How have they suffered?  How have they healed?  What inspires them?  How can we help? Because we are all connected.

Veterans can participate in three Ways:

  1. Veteran artists participate in their own right, sharing their art.
  2. Artists as mentors collaborate with veterans to synergistically co-create artwork and in the process build bridges of friendship, hope and healing.
  3. As artistic interpreters, professional artists listen to the stories and ideas our veterans share to flush out and create their artistic vision.
