Lindsay Franklin Accepts Job With Special Olympics

TEMPLETON — Templeton Athletic Director Lindsay Franklin announced via e-mail Monday that she will be stepping down and that her last day with the Eagles will be this Friday, March 20. Franklin has operated as the Eagles Athletic Director for the past six years and will now take on a similar position in San Luis Obispo County working for the Special Olympics.

“After serving as the Director of Athletics at Templeton High School for the past six years, my last day will be Friday, March 20,” Franklin wrote in her e-mail. “I have accepted a similar position with the Special Olympics, SLO County, an organization in which I have always been greatly passionate and involved. While I am excited for this new opportunity, there’s also a big part of me that is sad to say goodbye to our wonderful athletes, coaches, and families. We have achieved great things together and worked hard to make athletics at THS a truly special experience. THANK YOU for your support, encouragement, and teamwork over the past six years. As always, GO EAGLES!”

Templeton Athletics has certainly seen an uptick under Franklin’s tenure, especially during the past few years as the Eagles won a CIF Championship in softball a year ago and the boys baseball team made it to the CIF Division 3 semi-finals. THS also won Ocean League titles in three of their four winter sports and a Ocean League title in swimming in 2019.
