Visitor center, food service and gift shop, remains open seven days a week

In an effort to protect public health and the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff as the state responds to the continuing outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), effective Monday, March 16, California State Parks is temporarily suspending all tours at Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument. While Hearst Castle is not directly affected by COVID-19, State Parks is monitoring the situation carefully and is committed to following the state’s updated policy on social gatherings to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Hearst Castle will honor day tours already in place for today and Sunday (March 14 and 15) for visitors who already have tour reservations, however, today’s evening tours will be cancelled. Today and tomorrow’s group tour numbers will be reduced to accommodate the recommended social distancing set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Walk-in tour tickets will not be sold today and Sunday. Full refunds will be given to visitors who want to cancel their tours this weekend.

While all events and tours will be suspended starting March 16, Hearst Castle’s visitor center, including food service and gift shop, currently remains open seven days a week.

Future tour reservations will be automatically cancelled and a full refund will be provided to reservation holders.
