Stress adds urgency for assistance

As you may know, Court Appointed Special Advocates—CASA of San Luis Obispo County had to cancel a major fundraiser, Hope for the Future. CASA relies on this event for a significant amount of their budget. They have moved all their auction items to an online format. The funds raised during this auction are vital to help them continue serving the children under the jurisdiction of the child protection court in San Luis Obispo County.

Since the Shelter at Home order, CASA supervisors and advocates have been working diligently to ensure the safety and well being of all assigned foster youth. There are additional layers of stress and concern that impact the foster youth population. Recently a CASA volunteer had a telephone call from their assigned child who was in distress because of a heated argument with her foster parent. She was both brokenhearted and angry that she might be kicked out of this home. The CASA was able to immediately call the foster parent and mediate what could have turned into a failed placement and more loss to a child who has already had a tumultuous life. This is just one of the many ways CASA volunteers continue to advocate and care for their assigned children.
Go to https://slocasa2020.ggo.bid to start bidding and raise funds for CASA TODAY! The auction ends April 30, 2020.

They need your help today! All proceeds will go to fund CASA’s work on behalf of vulnerable local children and youth.

Thank you for helping the youth of our county who need it most!
