September days are here, with summer’s best of weather and autumn’s best of Cheer!

Fall will be ushered in on September 22nd, sure hope it brings relief from the heat!  Walter Winchell said it best “It’s a sure sign of summer if the chair gets up when you do.”
Autumn LeavesThere are two important days celebrated this month. Labor Day is on the first Monday of September, honoring the American Worker since 1882, the Visitor Center will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This date was chosen because it is halfway between July 4th and Thanksgiving. September 11th is recognized as Patriot Day, a National Day of Service and Remembrance for those killed in the 2001 attacks on America. On Friday, September 22 there will be an equal number of daylight hours and nocturnal hours called the autumnal equinox.
