Paso Robles Pioneer Day Chairman’s Welcome

It has been my distinct honor to be the Chairman of Pioneer Day for 2016 and 2017. Pioneer Day celebrates our region’s rich agricultural heritage and is a “thank you” to all those who support the merchants in Paso Robles each year…a celebration of all that is great about living in Paso Robles.

The Pioneer Day Committee is thrilled to have Daryl Stinchfield as Marshal and Mrs. Ellen Schroeder as Queen of Pioneer Day. Our 2016 Royalty, John and June Bertoni have been tireless, longtime supporters of Paso Robles and many local non-profits.
A special thank you to the City of Paso Robles and especially Freda Berman for all of her support and guidance. We also thank the merchants and businesses of Paso Robles and the noon-time Rotary Club who raise and contribute money to allow the Pioneer Day tradition to continue. We are truly blessed to live in a community that supports its heritage the way Paso Robles does.
We would like to invite all of you to come out to the most unique parade in the United States. Nowhere else can you see the vintage tractors, farm equipment, wagons, horses and mule teams rolling down a town’s main street. Our parade has become a magnet for teamsters and tractor drivers alike who come from all over the West to participate in our parade. Following the parade, we will have the Western Swing Band in the park as well as our tractors, wagons, equipment and old engines displayed at the Pioneer Day barns and the Pioneer Museum. If you have never come down to the barns after the parade, please come and say hello to the tractor drivers and the teamsters and get an up-close look at this wonderful equipment. Thanks also to the Lions Club for putting on the free bean feed in the park after the parade. The bean feed is one of the hallmarks of Pioneer Day and its theme “Leave Your Pocketbook at Home.”
In closing, thank you to all the citizens of Paso Robles and the greater North County area and thank you to all the wonderful Board Members and volunteers who put in unbelievable efforts year-round to make Pioneer Day such a wonderful celebration of our heritage.
