Last year, the event raised $40,000 for local youth organizations
A resurgent force for fundraising, the Rotary Club of Paso Robles gears up for the upcoming “Tee It Up For OUR Kids” annual golf tournament, and aspires to match its efforts from 2017 with a goal of raising and distributing $40,000 to local charities that provide needed services to our youth.
The tournament will be held on Saturday, April 28, and is open to the public. Registration is available for foursomes, or individuals and smaller groups.
On Friday, April 27th, the night before the tournament deep in the Eberle Winery caves, a silent auction along with appetizers will offer a night of camaraderie and fun to help raise money for the charities. This auction event is open to the public as well, and you don’t need to be a golfer to take a swing at the fine auction items available.
Your contributions are guaranteed to make a difference for our local youth. Last year, the net proceeds of $40,000 were distributed among the local Boy Scouts, Paso Robles Children’s Museum, Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates, Youth Works, Morning Star Youth Ranch, Rancho El Chorro, North County Dance and Performing Arts, and Skills USA.
The Rotary board approved all monies raised to be given to the kids in Paso Robles. “It’s been a blast handing out big checks to these great organizations that serve our youth,” golf tourney chairman Rick Goree said. “They so appreciate it and it puts a smile on all our faces. $40K in net profit for a golf tournament is very unusual and it just shows how many people and businesses will come together and support an event like this. It’s for our kids right here where we live. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
The Paso Robles Rotary entreats the local business community to join in the fun, and the fundraising, as “business partners” at the price of $1,000. This sponsorship will earn the business a foursome, publicity, and other perks, i.e. lunch, awards ceremony, ticket to silent auction event, raffle prizes and a lunch recognition at a Rotary meeting.
Last year, 84 golfers took clubs and carts to the course at Paso Robles Golf Club for a day of fun on the links, and there was room for more. One of the greater values for both the fundraising efforts and the sponsor is in becoming a “business partner.”
“A business partner can send four of their employees to enjoy the tournament and compete for the prizes. Great cause, great fun and you’ll be our guest at our ‘Thank You’ luncheon at a Rotary meeting,” Goree said.
The best part is, after basic expenses, all the money donated goes straight to our community youth. The golf tournament is run by an all-volunteer committee of Rotary members, and the funds raised funnel straight to the organizations in need.
As an alternative to the Business Partner level sponsorship, businesses can join as a tee sponsor for $150 and have their name posted at one of the 18 tees around Paso Robles Golf Club during the event.
