PASO ROBLES — Beginning next month, the record-breaking crowds at Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Sensorio will be provided with new, amped-up culinary experiences and an updated Fall/Winter schedule. Taking effect Oct. 1, VIP Terrace guests will dine on elegant picnic dinners provided by Trumpet Vine Catering.
Known for its commitment to local, organic, and sustainable ingredients, TVC has designed an innovative VIP Terrace Fall Menu with seasonally inspired fare, prepared to be both beautiful and flavorful.
For the General Admission guests, Sensorio will be elevating the culinary experience with new offerings including the on-site addition of a food truck.
Beginning Oct. 30, Sensorio will move into its Fall/Winter Schedule in anticipation of the changing seasons (dates/times below). Nestled in the rolling hills of Paso Robles, this enormous illuminated art installation features an array of over 58,800 stemmed spheres lit by fiber-optics, gently illuminating the landscape in subtle blooms of morphing color. Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Sensorio, which opened to the public May 19, will continue through Jan. 5, 2020 at Sensorio, 4380 Highway 46 East, Paso Robles.

Taking effect Oct. 1, the new VIP Terrace Fall Menu will offer guests delectable seasonal meals made up of local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. The VIP Terrace guests choose in advance from a choice of entrees such as braised boneless short ribs, buttermilk fried chicken, Pacific salmon with pistachio dill pistou, and black bean chili stuffed sweet potato (vegan). Side dish choices include herb-roasted red bliss potatoes, Tuscan pasta salad, mashed potatoes, and harvest quinoa. Desserts include salted caramel chocolate chunk brownie, fruit salad (vegan), lemon bar, and honey whipped goat cheese topped with dried apricot on a baguette.
Since 2000, Trumpet Vine Catering (TVC) has established a reputation for unique presentation, innovative menus, and exceptional service. From casual entertaining and wine picnics, TVC’s menus offer delicious fare created with fresh local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. TVC has recently expanded its services to include TVC ToGo, a delicious alternative to full-service catering. TVC’s partnership with Sensorio will give patrons the opportunity to enjoy their seasonally inspired menus without attending a private event.
For Sensorio, British artist Bruce Munro has created a 15-acre Field of Light hosting an array of over 58,800 stemmed spheres lit by fiber-optics, offering visitors an unparalleled immersive experience in a breathtaking otherworld. Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Sensorio is larger in size than any other Munro exhibition internationally, and is Munro’s first US exhibit entirely powered by solar. The installation has been welcomed by media, calling it “the future of public wellness” (Forbes) and a “pilgrimage-worthy art escape” that is “meant to complement, never compete or detract, from the beauty of the landscape” (Travel + Leisure). Field of Light at Sensorio has also been described as “mesmerizing” (Los Angeles Times), a “dreamlike glowing landscape” (SLO Tribune), and a “well-considered mix of technology, art installations, and community elements” (Forbes). Other amenities include food and alcoholic beverages available for purchase, and a special VIP terrace option offering viewing while dining. A rotating array of live music guests will also be performing on the Event Lawn every night Sensorio is open.
London-born Munro is best known for large-scale light-based artworks inspired largely by his continuous study of natural light and his curiosity for shared human experiences. With a fine arts degree, early career training in the lighting design industry and an inventive urge for reuse, his art captures his responses to literature, music, science, and the world around him. His work has been commissioned by and displayed in special exhibitions in galleries, parks, grand estates, cathedrals, botanical gardens, and museums across the globe.
The Central California destination launches with the interactive light installation by Munro, as other exhibits and buildings are put into place for an expected opening in 2021.
Future developments at Sensorio will include a hotel and conference center.
