PASO ROBLES — A woman was rescued by the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services Monday afternoon, Feb. 4, in the Salinas River.

The unidentified woman was found approximately 50 yards from the water’s edge in the 1500 block of North River Road, according to the PRDES. She was heard by local contractors crying for help and was spotted with water and debris up to her neck.

She was rescued by Paso Robles emergency personnel and transported by San Luis Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. California Highway Patrol Air Operations Division was requested and assisted with reconnaissance of the area for any additional potential victims, PRDES reported.

“The Salinas Riverbed is extremely hazardous during these rain events and all residents are advised to not enter the river bed,” PRDES stated.
