Vic Kunze

Vic Kunze, born December 5, 1955, passed away unexpectedly with his children by his side at his home in Paso Robles on May 3, 2017.

Vic was born and raised in Goleta to Herb and Ginny Kunze. He graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 1974 and later attended Oregon Institute of Technology with a degree in Auto Mechanics. After college he owned and operated Vic’s Texaco Station in Buellton. He married Michele Silva in 1986 and eventually moved with his family to Paso Robles where he established MVR Repair and River K Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch.

Vic was involved in various community organizations including being President of the Central Coast Youth Football League for 10 years, member and former President of the Paso Robles Trail Riders, San Miguel advisory board and Paso Robles FFA Boosters.

Vic was probably most known for the River K Corn Maze which along with his parents and family members have been growing and operating the pumpkin patch in the area since 1996. Vic was a “Jack of all trades” and could fix or repair anything from motorcycles and quads to jet skis, farm equipment and cars. He was always just a phone call away when you needed someone to bar-b-que or supply a float for a parade or to bail hay or disk a field.

Vic is survived by his wife Michele, son Zak (fiancé Kelsey (Corson), daughter Shayna, parents Herb and Ginny Kunze, sister Valerie Reynolds (JR and Kellie), Brother In-Law Chris Silva (Joanna; Taylor (fiance’ Sean, son Brixton), Aeja, Kieyn, Hayden) and Mother In-Law Colleen Klein.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 20, 2017, 3:00 p.m. at the Paso Robles Fairgrounds Frontier stage area. All are welcome to attend.
