Incident being investigated as a hate crime

TEMPLETON — A case of vandalism at Templeton High School that caused thousands of dollars worth of damages is being investigated as a hate crime, the San Luis Obispo County announced Saturday.
Deputies were called to the school after school staff discovered the vandalism at approximately 7:05 a.m. Saturday morning. Deputies discovered that the gym had been flooded using a garden hose that was placed inside and left on, causing thousands of dollars worth of damages to the gym floor. They also found graffiti consisting of swastikas and racial slurs written on several windows at the school. As a result, sheriff’s detectives and investigating the incident as a hate crime and have notified the FBI.
