Summer’s travel theme continues this week in Adult Library programs

PASO ROBLES — Continue with the Library’s travel-themed Summer Reading Program with two upcoming events: an evening of coloring with the Library’s Adult Coloring Club and a ‘Make It’ event this week.
De-stress on Friday, Aug. 10 from 6-8 p.m. by enjoying a relaxing and energizing evening of coloring with the Library’s Adult Coloring Club. Using pencils and pens, “visit” Asia, coloring from the book, The Colors of Asia.
Why would adults want to color? Engaging in activities such as coloring can contribute to your well-being; by providing quiet and focus, coloring reduces stress by stimulating the part of the brain that causes relaxation. The process of coloring has been found to have the same therapeutic qualities as meditation. Joining a coloring group adds a social aspect to the mix.
All materials are provided free of charge; avid colorists are welcome to bring their own projects.
Then “Make It” in the Paso Robles City Library on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 pm. Design the cover of your travel journal and you will be all ready to document your favorite trip. Using a variety of media including paint, pens, mod podge, scrapbook paper and more, you will create a unique and individual travel journal. What will you fill the pages with? All materials are provided; if you would like to bring a special photo, ticket stubs, postcards, or mementos to include, you are encouraged to do so.
This class is limited to age 16 and older. Signups for this event are required. Space is limited. Register online using our library event calendar at
