Six locals run the 122nd Boston Marathon

Paso Robles– Six locals competed in the 122nd Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16, braving harsh weather conditions with heavy rain and strong headwinds. Michael Cordsen and Liz Byrnes of Paso Robles, Suzi Jianuzzi and Susan McAdoo of Templeton, Alison Borgsmiller of Santa Margarita and Amy Parkinson of San Luis Obispo all qualified this year for the historic race and completed the 26.2 mile course from the town of Hopkinton to the finish line at Copley Square.  The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest marathon, having started in 1897 just after the first modern Olympics. These locals are all very involved in the community, and represented the Central Coast among thousands of runners. They finished the race with stellar times.
