Quick action saves multiple homes on Jardine Rd.

PASO ROBLES — Another fire was reported this season by Cal Fire San Luis Obispo County, this fire was in Paso Robles on Tuesday, June 18.

The fire started on a property on the 5200 block of Jardine Road in Paso Robles at approximately 12:40 p.m. and was initially reported as a one-acre fire with a structure ablaze.

The 500 sq. ft. outbuilding, which firefighters found fully engulfed in flames was extinguished in minutes.

Engines, bulldozer, and aircraft came from Cal Fire San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles Emergency Service, and Fire and Cal Fire Public Affairs Bureau for San Benito and Monterey counties — all these partner agencies worked together in putting out the fire and stopping its spread. The first engines that arrived provided defense and saved nearby homes.

At 3:26 p.m. response for the incident was completed and a total of 1.06 acres were burned. The outbuilding was the only structure to sustain heavy damage in the area.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
